Sooo refreshing!

GAME OVER

p_00001

Author: Mizutani Fuka

Genre: Comedy, Josei, Romance

Summary:  A businesswoman plays a game on the bus to find one boy who seemingly isn’t affected by her charms

This manga is good just as expected. I know Mizutani Fuka through her work 14-Sai no koi ( already reviewed) and totally love the art and plot so I discover Game over soon after.

The game concept is really suitable to this short manga as a whole. I don’t think it will fit if Game over is a weekly manga though. Akemi and Shouta are so cuteee together!! The beginning of the story gives us a very bored, and smug adult Akemi who likes to play her special game on the bus, and a seemingly cold high school boy Shouta. But when they clash, it turns out to be a beautiful combination. Game over only has like 4 or 5 chapters though it can also be considered the 4 or 5 phases of the two’s relationship. I know most people would cringe knowing that it’s a relationship between an older woman and a boy, but hey Mizutani Fuka did an awesome job carrying the plot in a time-traveling way. The whole manga is basically like this : chapter 1 : meet/ chapter 2 : date/ chapter 3: intimacy/ chapter 4: game over. Every chapter is a time jump and soon enough, we have already seen Shouta gradually growing taller than Akemi. The age gap is narrowed mostly by their personalities, by how Shouta is the adult in the relationship while Akemi is the childlike one despite their ages. Judging only by the number of chapters, it may look short but by the time I finish it I will have been through years of their love.

The manga is so.refreshing.you.will.not regret.reading.it ( and even ask for more)! Game over with its natural, interesting romance and sweet surprises will be a perfect break from the other mangas you read. Please give it a try!

p/s: I bet Mizutani Fuka has a thing with older woman x younger boy 😉

pss: Her blushing drawings is actually very recognizable.

Grade: 9/10
